Who are we

This website is owned and operated by GenieUs Genomics Pty Limited ACN 632 115 096 ("GenieUs"). GenieUs is involved in the field of genome research and genomics.  One of GenieUs' aims is to better understand motor neurone disease ("MND") with a view to helping stop or slow their progression. GenieUs' work includes the analysis and testing of the genomes of individuals suffering from MND.

GenieUs and Arctoris Limited (UK Company number 09987028) ("Arctoris") are both participating in the 12 Week Drug Discovery Challenge ("Challenge") set by themselves. Arctoris is involved in the field of using technology and data to further drug discovery and development of new medicines.

Respecting your privacy

GenieUs and Arctoris are committed to compliance with privacy laws which apply to their organisations.

GenieUs and Arctoris' respective privacy policies concern their management practices regarding the personal information of individuals who engage with them as part of their research projects or who otherwise interact with them for example via an online site such as https://www.12wdc.com/. Specifically, the policies cover:

  • the kinds of personal information GenieUs and Arctoris collect and hold;

  • how GenieUs and Arctoris collect and hold it;

  • the purposes for which GenieUs and Arctoris collect, hold, use and disclose it;

  • access and correction rights;

  • privacy complaint rights; and

  • sharing of personal information overseas.

There are some matters to which the respective privacy policies do not apply.  These are set out in the linked privacy policies.

If there is any inconsistency between GenieUs privacy policy and this policy or between Arctoris' privacy policy and this policy, the terms of this policy shall prevail to the extent of any inconsistency.

Why do we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information?

In addition to the purposes set out in their privacy policies, GenieUs and Arctoris may collect, hold and use your personal information as part of their research projects, including the Challenge.

GenieUs and Arctoris may collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information to each other in relation to the Challenge.  Both GenieUs and Arctoris may also disclose your personal information in publications to third parties about the Challenge.  Where appropriate, your personal information may be de-identified or pseudonymised prior to disclosure to GenieUs or Arctoris (as applicable) or publication to third parties.

Updates

This privacy policy is current at the date below and may be updated periodically.  If there is a proposed change to this policy, GenieUs will display prior notice of the change on https://www.12wdc.com/.

Other privacy terms and limits of this policy

This is a policy only.  There may be additional privacy notices and terms relevant to you, depending on the nature of your dealings with GenieUs.  GenieUs and Arctoris have separate terms regarding their respective employees – this policy does not apply to the personal information of their employees in their capacity as such.
